The DL

OK,

I figured I better tell you all the story. So, we went to Sun Valley on Friday night and stayed over to Saturday. Jyl had mentioned that it may not be a great idea, so close to the due date (2 weeks), but the doctor cleared us and I figured that since Dallas gave no sight of coming early, we'd be good. I've been cooped up in my office since the 2nd of January and needed some family time. Fortunately, we take the first Saturday in March off!

So, when we got home Saturday, Jyl was acting very prego. She hurt, was tired, etc. I felt bad. Sunday came and we went to church like normal. Well, about 2 in the morning (Monday), she started having contractions. They were about 8-9 minutes apart, and consistent. She thought they were Braxton Hicks and decided to wait till my alarm went off at 4 am to tell me about it.

I told her we needed to go into the doc and get her checked out. She told me she'd be fine and that she had a full schedule of patients for the day. So, I picked up the phone and called my sweet mother in law and asked her to come stay with Dallas Jay while we figured this out. She got there around 4:45.

As we were leaving, I asked if I should get the car seat, overnight bag, etc. Jyl said, "It's nothing, I'll be back in an hour and I'm going to work." Well, that didn't happen. She was dilated to a 6 when we got there. The doc got there at 7, broke her water, and she was at a 10 by 9.

The epideral was working great, and by 10:30 they said she'd be here sometime before 2. At 11 Jyl couldn't hold back and had to start pushing. By 11:15 the doc said push and @ 11:34 Sofia B. Call came into this world!

Jyl and Sofi have both been doing wonderfully. Jyl is such a trooper. She continually amazes me!

Thank you to everyone who has helped us get things put together and taken care of so we could bring this little angel into our home. You all are so wonderful and Jyl and I are so blessed.

Jyl will be off work for about six weeks, so if anyone wants to come see the little button, give her a call.

The Movies

This is Dallas Jay at the movies. We were going to take him to see "Bedtime Stories" with Adam Sandlar, but it had already left the theatre, so we ended up seeing, "Mall Cop" instead. It was actually quite funny. We laughed pretty hard! In the mean time, Dallas has been watching "Dreamer" and "Man from Snowy River" and he puts on his cowboy hat and grabs his stick horse and rides all around the house as he watches it. It's pretty fun to watch him. He also still pretends to fall off and get stomped by the horse, thanks to Uncle Andrew and the movies, I am sure that if he were to ever ride an actual horse he would think that falling off was the only way to get off the horse. I guess he'll just be prepared for riding Ward style. Ok, so actually my dad and my brother Jesse are good riders and Andrew too (he only falls when he is doing rodeo) as well as Grandpa Ward, but I am not so great and have had my fair share of bad experiences on a horse, so it would be natural for Dallas to be the same I guess.
Ace is working insanely hard.In the last two weeks he ended up putting in about 135 hours, not to mention the time the month before that. Luckily I am use to him working hard and appreciate that about him. One of my favorite qualities about him.
I am doing good as well. I am at 34 weeks and doing great. It has been fun having miss Reese around( Jesse and Brooke's little girl). She is so cute and a ton of fun too. She has started to smile and has a great personality. She's got me pretty excited for Sofia to come. Nervous, but excited! XOXO

A post from me...

Lately Ace has been doing all of our posts and I thought I could take a moment to put in my post too. It is great having a husband that will do that too. Our house is crazy, but good. Ace is gone most of the time, but we know he's always thinking about us. I am doing good. I didn't have to do the glucose test this pregnancy and my blood pressure is low, I am so grateful and also glad that I didn't continue to see that crazy doctor.
Dallas is growing like a weed. He is so tall that he has to wear 5t clothing! It is amazing. I always thought I was special because I was taller then both my parents (just by a little) and I am now pretty sure that Dallas will be taller then both his parents.
The above picture is a picture of the Idaho Falls Temple where Ace and I were married. We have now been married for almost 6 years and life just keeps getting better, or maybe better isn't the right word, because it was great to begin with, so it's just becoming more interesting in a great way. There you have it.
I loved the inauguration. My favorite part was the musical of the song, "Tis' a gift to be simple..." At least those are the words I know. It was totally beautiful and perfect considering the economic recession.
(Don't forget to see the new post below, also!)

That time of year

Well, I am quickly finding out what tax season is all about. There are a lot of seasons, hunting season, fishing season, golf season, ski season, the holiday season. None of which are nearly as exciting as tax season!!!!!!! No, truth be told, the hours are long, but I love my job and I am very grateful to have found a place that values me for my hard work!

I am even more grateful for a wonderful family that supports me in that work. Jyl is amazing. She has not once complained about the hours and I know that she is doing way more than she should with being 32 weeks prego!!!!!!!! She is an amazing woman and our kids will be lucky to grow up with her example always present.

We decided that we need to make an effort to find things to do as a family with all my extended hours. So, we decided to ask D what he wanted to do. He wanted to go bowling. So, here's a couple of pictures. You can see that he's obviously been watching the Flintstones and is adopting the nick name "Twinkle Toes!"
